OBS have become trusted advisors to the Santos IT team having worked with Santos on a number of projects of organisational importance.
Santos was listed in 2004 as one of Australia’s Top 50 companies and is Australia’s largest onshore gas producer as well as a major Australian oil and gas exploration company with operations in Australia, United States, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Egypt. Santos is rapidly expanding its exploration interests and pursuing new venture opportunities.
Santos had a vision of ‘One Santos’- overcoming company wide communication and collaboration challenges due to the nature of operations which are geographically disperse. OBS was able to assist Santos in achieving this vision , by designing and implemented a SharePoint Portal which was named‘The Well’. ‘The Well’ has become the hub of information and knowledge for Santos employees.
After 3 years of using ‘The Well’ Santos wanted to ensure employee’s had a more productive experience by leveraging tools and utilities that were available in SharePoint Portal Server 2003. OBS followed a strategic roadmap to migrate from SharePoint Portal Server 2001 – SharePoint Portal Server 2003, which has resulted in ‘The Well’ being recognised as a business critical tool.
OBS have extended Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services with the advanced document management functionality of Nintex SmartLibrary, enabling Santos employees are now enjoying the extra rich functionality of document workflow, document undelete, activity monitoring and reporting and publishing to other locations including webservices and file servers.
