OBS in Office 2003 Launch Keynote  – 1st October 2003

Microsoft's ubiquitous desktop application suite, Office, has undergone a major upgrade and was relaunched worldwide on the 22nd of October, in corresponding events worldwide. As well as upgrading its core applications, Microsoft has also breathed more life into the brand name "Office" itself, to such an extent that it now includes most of its server applications under the moniker "Office Server System" as well. The idea behind the rebranding is that it reflects the greatly expanded interoperability features between the Office "desktop" applications and its latest server products.

Through appreciation of OBS's development of Knowledge Central, a total, integrated portal offering that makes full use of all the latest, upgraded Office applications and server products, Microsoft asked OBS to participate in the keynote speech of the Office 2003 launch. Brian Cook and Natalie Phillips ran a demonstration of Knowledge Central at the Sydney launch, and will shortly be participating in the Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide launches.

Entry is free for the Office launches but registration is essential and is done through the Microsoft Australia website (www.microsoft.com/australia/events/). Launch dates are:

Melbourne: Tuesday 28th October, Melbourne Convention Centre
Canberra: Monday 3rd November, Hyatt Hotel
Adelaide: Tuesday 11th November, Hilton Hotel
Perth: Friday 14th November, Sheraton Hotel
Brisbane: Thursday 20th November, Sheraton Hotel.
