Bayside Health is a large public sector organisation that encompasses The Alfred Hospital, Sandringham and District Memorial Hospital, and Caulfield General Medical Centre. Across these three hospitals, Bayside Health's services include trauma, aged care, emergency, rehabilitation, infectious diseases, oncology, psychiatry and intensive care. The Alfred Hospital also has a distinguished history of medical training and research.

Bayside were introduced to OBS by HP, its managed services provider, as an expert in portals and collaboration on the Microsoft platform.

Bayside Health wanted to automate the tracking of tasks, issues and resources as well as install a central repository for project and resource data that was available via the Web. Using the existing features of Microsoft Project 2002 and leveraging the Microsoft Office model and Windows SharePoint Services, the new platform at Bayside Health ensures that project team members are fully aware of the status of each project in which they are involved, and the tasks assigned to them, whilst monitoring the risks and issues these tasks carry.

This solution provides structure for all the project managers, empowering them with the tools to work together in a more co-operative environment. Team members now have unprecedented project visibility as well as an audit trail of their contributions to the project team.
