The Australian Stem Cell Centre (ASSC) unites many of Australia’s academic researchers with the biotechnology industry to collaborate upon the development of innovative therapeutic products, which treat a range of serious injuries and debilitating diseases. The centre builds on the existing expertise in stem cell and related platform technologies to research revolutionary new approaches to disease treatment.
OBS were engaged based on having a thorough understanding of the knowledge foundation that the ASSC were seeking to implement, and our extensive experience with SharePoint solutions implementations.
The ASSC wanted a solution that utilised its existing Microsoft technology infrastructure after having recognised that SharePoint server could meet ASSC business process requirements. The implementation of “The Cell” has assisted the ASSC in addressing challenges in its efficiency. Employees are now able to closely monitor research project activity against project plans and milestones, which subsequently assists resource allocation decisions. The ASSC is also able to manage and maintain intellectual property assets being developed through ASSC research projects, hence enabling effective communication with stakeholders on ASSC's accountable actions and objectives. The document data repository is the first in a number of strategic projects that the ASSC has planned to ensure synergy of both business practices and technology adoption, to make the ASSC a market leader.
